After numerous impressive performances, three players with local ties were named tot their respective conference's weekly awards lists.

B.J. Johnson (La Salle)
The Syracuse transfer has been making a huge impact in his short time wearing an Explorers uniform, but this week he was exceptional. The redshirt junior averaged 22 points and nine rebounds per game this week as he turned in identical performances in back-to-back victories against Patriot League foes Lehigh and Bucknell as he was named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week. Johnson is now leading the Explorers in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 18.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per contest.

Kris Jenkins (Villanova)
Jenkins was an offensive force this week for the newly No.1 ranked Wildcats. Jenkins averaged 21 points and five rebounds per game this week on his way to being named to the Big East Weekly Honor Roll. Jenkins led the Wildcats in scoring in both of their Big 5 wins this week, pouring in 22 against Penn and 20 against St. Joe’s. Johnson and Jenkins will go head-to-head in another Big 5 contest on Tuesday as La Salle and Villanova, the two hottest teams in the Big 5, will go to battle at the Palestra at 7:00 PM.

Samir Doughty (VCU)
Doughty, the redshirt freshman guard out of Math, Civics, and Sciences, was named to the Atlantic 10 honor roll this week after impressive performances for VCU against both Princeton and Illinois. Doughty averaged ten points in his team’s two games this week, scoring 11 in their win against Princeton and adding in nine in their loss to Illinois. The 6-4 guard also hauled in six rebounds in the victory over Princeton.

Mikey Dixon (Quinnipiac)
Dixon, who hails from Sanford School (Del.) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for his performances in his squad's games against Monmouth and Marist. Dixon led his team in scoring this week, scoring 18 in their loss to Monmouth and 14 in their victory over Marist for a weekly average of 16.0 points per game. Dixon is now second in the MAAC in scoring for freshmen, averaging 11.7 points per contest on the season
