Strengths: This 6-3 junior with the body of a linebacker likes to attack the basket with relentless effort; getting into the paint is his biggest attribute on the court. Martin is more of the slasher out of the guards on his high school team, which helps create great balance around his shooters. His handle is ok; he’s great at finishing at the rim with contact. Just as tough as he is strong, Martin invites the contact. When his feet are set, he can knock down an open jump shot. Can also score out of the post
Weakness: Plays a little erratic at times, needs to make better decisions on the court. Needs to develop some more consistent shooting and develop a jump-stop because he will tend to jump when nothing is there. Room for improvement on his handle.
Overall: Martin is one of those players you want on your team and hate playing against. He will attack the basket regardless of who’s in the paint. If he put the same effort into the defensive end as he does offensively, he could become an elite player at the next level. Mid-major starter down the road, but if he develops a consistent jump-shot he could play high-major.
