Strengths: The Conwell-Egan big man is a force down low, with the ability to free up outside shooting for the Eagles. The wide-bodied junior has really good hands and a pretty solid low post game. He will dunk the ball if dished to by a penetrating guard, which is actually rare in the high school game for bigs. Dalessandro has a very nice shooting stroke; the big man will step out on the perimeter and knock down the three which was highly impressive. Defends really well, lateral movement is excellent for his size as he steps out and hedged ball screens very well.
Weaknesses: Although big for the high school game, doesn't have ideal height for bigs at the Division I level. Needs to continue to work on his athleticism, which will help his low-post scoring when he plays against more athletic bigs. Needs more low-post “go-to" moves.
Overall: A tough power forward with a developing face-up game, Dalessandro has matured into one of the better post players around. He should be an impact player right away for a very good Division II program, with a chance to develop into an all-league player or better by his junior or senior year.
