Despite coming back from down by as many as 14 in the second half, Penn fell on the road at Dartmouth in a heartbreaker, by a final of 74-71.

At First…
In a first half that saw neither team lead by more than five points, Penn and Dartmouth swapped leads 10 different times in the first 20 minutes. It was a pair of Evan Boudreaux free throws that allowed the Big Green to open up their first of two five-point advantages, 24-19 at the 6:08 mark, but Penn answered back to regain the lead four minutes later.

It was a jumper by Ryan Betley that came off of his own miss that had the Quakers leading 30-28 with 2:33, but Dartmouth outscored Penn 5-1 in the remaining minutes to enter the break with a two-point lead.

Turning Point…
The Big Green opened the second half on a 12-2 run, capped by a Guilien Smith three-pointer just over two minutes in, as the home team took a 47-33 lead, the game’s largest to that point by far. Penn showed some fight, however, scoring the next five points to cut the lead back to single digits.

Penn fought all the way back to within a possession by the time the last five minutes rolled around, as a four-point play by Sam Jones cut the Big Green lead to 59-57. However, the Quakers ran out of gas in the final minutes, as they came up short after cutting the lead to two inside 20 seconds to go.

Standout Stars…
Darnell Foreman did a bit of everything, leading the Quakers with 15 points, four boards and four assists. Betley also had a solid all-around game for Penn, finishing with 11 points and five rebounds, while Jones chipped in 12 points.

The game’s top scorer, Miles Wright, scored 19 points, while Boudreaux had a double-double for Dartmouth with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

Noteworthy Numbers…
0: Penn’s struggles in conference continued with a loss to last-place Dartmouth, as the Quakers now sit in the basement at 0-5 in Ivy League play.

8: In a game they lost by just three, the Quakers missed eight shots at the charity stripe, going 13-of-21 on the night.
