St. Joe's won its 14th game in 15 tries and moved to 7-1 in the Atlantic 10 on Saturday, collecting a 64-55 road win at Rhode Island on Saturday night.

At first...
The Hawks jumped out to a decent advantage early on, leading 24-13 with about four minutes left in the first half. St. Joe's played tight defense the entire first half, holding Rhode Island to just 19 points in the first 20 minutes and taking an 11-point lead into the halftime break.

Turning point...
The Hawks went on an 8-0 early in the second half which gave them a 42-46 advantage with a little less than 15 minutes left. Isaiah Miles had four points during the run and it gave St. Joe's some separation from the Rams. Rhode Island never seriously threatened the lead after the run.

Shining stars...
Miles scored a team-high 17 points, and he got nine of them at the foul line, where he only missed once. DeAndre' Bembry went 7-for-14 from the field and added 15 points for the Hawks. Meanwhile, Jared Terell scored 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting for the Rams.

Noteworthy numbers...
The Hawks got the win, but they went just 1-for-15 on 3-pointers. Papa Ndao made one of his two 3-point attempts off the bench, and no other Hawk drained a triple. ...Rhode Island was limited to a 31.7 percent field goal percentage.
