Temple picked up its fifth win of the season in a 78-63 victory on Saturday afternoon over Delaware State. The Owls improve to a 5-5 mark, while Delaware State remains winless, moving to 0-11 on the season

At First…

The Temple Owls entered Saturday’s matchup in search of their fifth win, while Delaware State was just looking for its first.

Turning Point…

With Temple trailing 24-23 with about four minutes remaining in the first half, freshman Trey Lowe nailed a corner three and then proceeded to steal the inbounds pass before slamming it home to give the Owls a four point lead. Delaware State would never regain the lead.

Shining Stars…

Temple was paced senior wing Quenton DeCosey who recorded 20 points along with 12 rebounds and junior big man Mark Williams who posted a season-high nine points coupled with seven rebounds in 17 minutes of play. Josh Brown also had himself a nice day, finishing with 14 points, five rebounds and four assists.

Delaware State was led junior guard DeAndre Haywood who finished with 21 points as well as Dana Raysor who recorded 11 points off the bench.

Noteworthy Numbers…

Temple shot astonishingly terrible from 3-point range, hitting only four of their 27 attempts in what was truly a dismal shooting performance. The Owls came into the game shooting 32.9 percent from long distance.
