Quick Report: St. Francis (Pa.) 84 Lehigh 73

The Lehigh Mountain Hawks entered Wednesday’s matchup with St. Francis (Pa.) seeking their first win of the season. However they came up short, losing 84-73.

At First…

The two teams went back and forth, with Lehigh even taking a 29-27 lead at about the six minute mark of the first half, before St. Francis would pull away and take a five point lead into the half, 41-36.

Turning Point…

A 9-2 St. Francis (Pa.) run with about seven minutes remaining in the game really put the separation that they needed in order to seal the game and get away from Lehigh. The Mountain Goats were unable to recover after that. Never getting the score within less than eight points.

Standout Stars…

Lehigh’s Tim Kempton recorded 18 points along with 9 rebounds as he tried to will his team to a win. Unfortunately for Lehigh, it would not be enough as they suffered their sixth loss of the season. Guard Kahron Ross also chimed in 16 points along with a game-high eight assists.

St. Francis (Pa.) was paced by the 16 points from guard Ben Millaud-Meunier. He connect on four three pointers of seven attempted and was complemented by the rest of the Red Flash starting lineup that each finished with nine or more points.

Noteworthy Numbers…

The margin of victory for St. Francis (Pa.) was 11 but the game was much closer than that. For a majority of the game, the two teams went back and forth, really keeping things close until the final seven minutes or so when the Red Flash would pull ahead to maintain an eight-point lead the rest of the game.
