Drexel is getting out of Alaska, which is likely welcomed news for the Dragons and Bruiser Flint, who are now 0-6 this season. The team went 0-3 in the Great Alaska Shootout, falling 62-59 to previously winless San Diego on Saturday.

At first…
Both teams were playing their third games in three days and got off to relatively slow starts offensively. Neither side got any separation during the first half and the Toreros went to the break with a 31-30 advantage.

Turning point…
Drexel went without a field goal for more than a five-minute span in the second half. The Dragons made four free throws between the half’s 10:51 and 5:19 marks, but San Diego outscored them 9-4 in that time to go up by seven points.

Shining stars…
This game was not pretty, but Marcus Harris had 14 points for San Diego and was 5-for-12 from the field. For Drexel, Sammy Mojica had 15 points, but was only 4-for-15 from the floor. Terrell Allen added 10 points and two assists. Allen also attempted 15 field goals and made just three.

Noteworthy numbers…
Drexel shot 28.8 percent from the field, and Mojica was the only Dragon to make more than three field goals. …Drexel outrebounded San Diego, 39-32, and attempted 18 more shots from the floor than the Toreros. …San Diego’s last six points came from the foul line, and the team went 22-for-28 (78.6 percent).

Up next…
Drexel (0-6) @ La Salle (12/5, 2 p.m.)
San Diego (1-5) vs. Bethesda (12/2, 10 p.m.)
