GLASSBORO, N.J. -- With a sold-out Esby Gymnasium packed to the gills, former Rowan head coach John Giannini made his return to the school he led to the 1996 national championship and won his first game from the visitor’s bench, as La Salle took home a 81-51 victory on Saturday afternoon.

At First…
Despite being a Division III team with no scholarship athletes going up against a D-I program just a few years removed from a Sweet 16 run, Rowan didn’t show any signs of intimidation against La Salle. The Profs turned the Explorers over with regularity over the opening 10 minutes, holding even at 13-13 before La Salle was slowly able to open up a lead that was 38-28 at halftime.

Turning Point....
After Rowan scored the opening bucket of the second half to cut the deficit back to single digits, La Salle responded with a 10-0 run that resulted in the team’s largest lead of the game to that point, 18. That advantage only expanded from there, getting as high as 34 before the final margin of 30 points.

Standout Stars…
Jordan Price, the third-leading scorer in Division I (26.6 ppg), had what seemed like an effortless 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc; the 6-4 junior guard also had five rebounds, five assists and three steals. Rohan Brown  added 14 points, while two others, Johnnie Shuler and Amar Stukes, scored 11 points each.

Noteworthy Numbers…
Both teams took exactly 63 shots; La Salle made 31 (49.2 percent), while Rowan made 19 (30.2 percent). Both teams also made exactly nine foul shots, though La Salle only needed 12 attempts while Rowan needed 20 to get there.

Both teams turned it over exactly 21 times.

Up Next…
La Salle (4-1) vs. Hofstra (3-2) (Dec. 2, Tom Gola Arena)
Rowan (2-5) @ Rutgers-Camden (0-4) (Dec. 2, Camden)
