The Podcast of Basketball Love returns this week as Josh Verlin and Stephen Pianovich get national and local perspectives on Philly college and high school hoops.
First, ESPN's Jeff Goodman calls in (1:00) to discuss some Big 5 programs, including what he sees in the future of Villanova, Temple and Penn under Steve Donahue.
Goodman also talks about the NBA future of St. Joseph's DeAndre Bembry and what to expect from Drexel transfer Damion Lee this season at Louisville.
New CoBL featured columnist Michael Bullock then joins the show (21:30). Bullock, who spent more than 20 years covering multiple sports with the Harrisburg Patriot-News, shares his expertise about teams and players in the central part of the state.
Finally, Abington head coach Charles Grasty comes on the show (37:10) and discusses what it was like to win last season's District 1 Class AAAA title. Grasty also looks ahead to this season and talks about what he has see so far from freshman Lucas Monroe and Eric Dixon.
(Note: There was a technical difficulty in the recording, and it only comes through one channel. CoBL apologies for the issue)
