Stevens cut his list of schools down to eight in July: Indiana, Temple, Penn State, Marquette, Pitt, SMU, Villanova and Maryland. Stevens took an official visit to Penn State over the weekend and could become the third Roman Catholic senior to commit to the Nittany Lions, joining Tony Carr and Nazeer Bostick.

The 200-pound wing who is known for his scoring ability also told CoBL last week that he had trips to Indiana and Marquette planned, but he is now making his announcement before officially visiting either school.

His only other official visit outside of Penn State was to Villanova.

"I want to see how I could fit in each program I visit," he said last week. "I want to meet with some of the new players on each campus and see how I could blend in if I went to any of the schools.”

Stevens averaged 15.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while playing for Team Final in this summer’s Nike EYBL circuit. He is transferring to Roman after playing at Haverford School last season.

Stevens will become the second highly coveted Pennsylvania recruit to commit this week. Hershey forward Dylan Painter gave his verbal pledge to Villanova on Wednesday.
