The July live periods have been kind to class of 2016 point guard Sa’eed Nelson of St. Augustine (NJ). The 6-footer has doubled the amount of offers that he has received and could likely pick up several more during the final July live period, beginning Wednesday afternoon.

On Monday, Nelson picked up offers from American and Holy Cross, he already had offers from Lafayette and Boston University in his pocket. He earned those offers back in the spring.

“It feels great,” Nelson said. “Obviously, you get this chance one time in your life. I am waiting to see what I like during my visits, which will happen after live period ends.”

Nelson said that he intends to visit Boston, Holy Cross, American and UMass; the latter has not offered him yet, but has been in close contact with him and he expects things to heat up with UMass during this next live period.

He may add more or change his list of schools that he plans to visit after he has a better picture of where he stands with the rest of the universities, whose coaching staffs he has been in contact with, Navy, Colgate and Lehigh.

His AAU team, Jersey Force, will compete in Live in AC, an AAU high school showcase taking place in Atlantic City this Wednesday through Friday. Nelson knows that this is his final chance of the summer live periods to impress division I coaches, and that coaches from most of the schools that he has been in contact with will be present at the event.

“Not gonna make the decision yet, still want to see who offers and I am going to take all of my official visits,” Nelson said. “I’m just happy to get the offers, see what schools fit my needs, what school fits my playing style and go from there.”

While Nelson is not favoring any one of the schools that are interested in him, he did mention that Boston has been in contact with him the most.

CoBL will have coverage from Live from AC beginning with the first set of games on Wednesday.
