The Temple basketball coaching staff will host over 30 high school programs from five different states this weekend in its annual high school team camp.

While many schools will play on both Friday night and Saturday, quite a few will only play one day or the other, making both days worth seeing with so many good teams and players scheduled to take the courts.

A few teams to keep an eye on:

--There’s a chance that Neumann-Goretti’s next top guard, Quade Green, makes his return to the court this weekend for the Saints after missing a few weeks with a foot/ankle injury. The 6-foot-tall combo guard has pulled in offers from high-majors like Michigan State, Syracuse, Xavier and more over the last few weeks, and they’re going to be joined by quite a few more by the time he makes his decision. Temple was his first offer, last September; expect the Owls’ coaching staff to be following N-G quite closely for Green and 2017 F/C Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree, another offeree.

--The defending PIAA Class AAAA champions, Roman Catholic, should debut their new-look lineup on Friday night. Rising seniors Tony Carr, Paul Newman and Penn State commit Nazeer Bostick will be joined this year by Lamar Stevens, Carr’s close friend and a teammate of the three already on Nike’s EYBL circuit with Team Final. Those four, plus rising junior D’Andre Vilmar, form a starting five that’s got a very good claim as the most talented in the state; now head coach Chris McNesby has to figure out who will fill in behind them besides returning sixth man Dakquan Davis, a rising junior guard.

--One of the top rising juniors in Delaware is Myles Cale, whose Appoquinimink HS plays a pair of games on Friday night against tough competition in Imhotep and the Friends’ School (Md.). Cale, a 6-foot-2 scoring guard, is the Under Armour Association’s top scorer on its 16U circuit at over 20 ppg, and he’s got the ability to get buckets from all three levels. He recently picked up his first Division I offer, from Delaware; expect plenty more mid-to-high major schools to follow by next summer.

--After missing most his team at last weekend’s St. Joseph’s camp due to various obligations, Germantown Academy head coach Jim Fenerty should have the majority of his players on hand this weekend. Rising juniors Evan-Eric Longino and Kyle McCloskey and senior point guard Devon Goodman form the heart of this team, but there are plenty of minutes left to be taken by the graduations of Tim Guers and Sam Lindgren. The three-time defending Inter-Ac champions have some work to do, and they need to start getting production from rising senior big man Joe Stinson.

--A few more: St. Joseph’s Prep looks like a much more athletic group this year despite the loss of SJU-bound wing Chris Clover; rising sophomore point guard Kyle Thompson might be the next Hawk star, but he’s got a strong supporting cast. ...Constitution lost a big senior class, including Minnesota-bound Ahmad Gilbert and FIU-bound Kimar Williams, so for the first time in three years head coach Rob Moore is going to have to do a lot of work over the summer to figure out what his lineup and rotation will look like in November. ...Friends’ School (Md.) features a top rising junior wing nationally in Myles Douglas, who’s 6-8 and super skilled. ...Reading has one of the best players to come out of the District 3 region in some time, rising junior Lonnie Walker, who’s got schools like Villanova, Indiana, Stanford, UCLA and Ohio State already offering scholarships. ...Cherokee (N.J.) will be interesting to watch, as new head coach Eric Cassidy makes his debut with the program just a few days after his hire became official.
