A little over a month ago, Villanova's basketball program got some good news when Fordham transfer, 2014-15 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, Eric Paschall announced he would be continuing his remaining three years of eligibility on the Main Line.

On Tuesday, the university made it official, announcing Paschall's arrival to the program.

"We're really excited to add a player of Eric's caliber to our basketball family," Villanova head coach Jay Wright said in a statement. "Eric has been very well coached by Jere Quinn at St. Thomas More and Tom Pecora [at Fordham]. He is also an outstanding student and a dynamic offensive player whose skills are an excellent fit for our team."

Paschall is enrolled at Villanova and is currently on campus taking summer courses.

Villanova, the reigning Big East champion, had its first offseason workout Tuesday.

Paschall, a native of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., averaged 15.9 ppg and 5.5 rpg in his freshman year at Fordham. He'll sit out the upcoming season due to the NCAA's transfer rules and will have three more years of eligibility starting in the 2016-17 season.

When he enters the program, Paschall will be on the same track - in terms of eligibility - as the incoming recruiting class of top point guard Jalen Brunson, Delaware guard Donte Divincenzo and New Jersey forward Tim DelaneyMikal Bridges, who redshirted this past season, will also have three years left starting in the 2016-17 season.

At 6-foot-6, Paschall will join a roster of perimeter and wing players that will include all of the above names, as well as Phil Booth, Kris Jenkins and Josh Hart.

As is the staple of many Wright-coaced teams, the 2016-17 Wildcats will have a surplus of perimeter scoring options.
