Chester County's Valor Bowl adding hoops event

The Valor Bowl, Chester County’s annual seniors all-star football game, is coming to the basketball court.

Valor Bowl co-founders Scott Allison and Joe Carroll have added a hoops all-star game to feature the top seniors in Chester County, and the first Valor Bowl Chester County All-Star Basketball Game is being held on Thursday, May 21 at Downingtown West High School.

The 17th edition of the gridiron event will be held exactly one week later.

A girls’ game will open the inaugural basketball event at 6 PM. with the boys’ game to follow. Admission is $5, and all proceeds will go to the Chester County Special Olympics.

The Valor Bowl has supported the Chester County Special Olympics since its inception, and this year, according to Allison, they’re going to hit the half-million dollar mark in terms of a total donation; each year, he said, they raise between $25,000 and $40,000 each year from the football game alone.
