Earlier this afternoon, the Big Ten and BIG EAST Conferences announced the matchups for the inaugural Gavitt Tipoff Games, which will honor Dave Gavitt, founder and first commissioner of the BIG EAST.

Gavitt, who's commonly referred to as a basketball visionary, was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. He passed away at the age of 73 in 2011.

The set of eight men's basketball games will air on FOX Sports 1, BTN, or an ESPN network from Nov. 17-20, 2015. The BIG EAST home games will be telecast on FOX Sports 1, while Big Ten home games will appear on BTN or an ESPN network.

Beginning in 2015 and scheduled through 2022, the annual series will showcase renewed rivalries, with a majority of the matchups not having occurred in more than a decade.
