At the end of March, former Malvern Prep star Brendan Kilpatrick was seeking a new home after deciding to transfer following his sophomore year of eligibility at the University of Vermont.

On Monday, CoBL learned he was coming home, but not at the Division I level.

Kilpatrick, who scored 1,293 points at Malvern Prep, will attend Philadelphia University and finish his last two years of eligibility under Hall of Fame coach, Herb Magee.

He'll be eligible to play right away since he's not staying at the D-1 level.

A former Inter-Ac MVP in each of his last two seasons at Malvern, the Norristown, Pa. native played in 31 of 33 games his freshman season in 2012-13, averaging 3.6 ppg in 12 minutes per night.

But he would miss all of the 2013-14 season after suffering a foot injury which required surgery.

That set the tone for an injury plagued year for the former All-State wing. Last summer, while Vermont was doing a Canadian tour, Kilpatrick suffered a turf toe injury. He then sprained his ankle in the fall during preseason before suffering two concussions early in the season last year.

He played in just 21 games last year for the Catamounts, who went 20-14 (12-4 America East) and his minutes (11.1) and point totals (2.9) dropped from his freshman campaign.

Perhaps a change of scenery and a little bit of luck in the health department will spring Kilpatrick in the right direction.

Philly U, which won the CACC title this year, returns most of its roster and loses just one senior who played significant minutes, second-leading scorer Nick Schlitzer (17.7 ppg, 4.9 rpg). The 6-foot-5 Kilpatrick has a great chance at seeing plenty of minutes in replacing the 6-6 Schlitzer's position on the floor.

The Rams, with Kilpatrick in the fold, could be locked and loaded to repeat as conference champions and get back into the NCAA Division II Tournament.
