Malvern Prep seniors Chris Anderson and Joey Fitzpatrick have finalized their college plans, and they'll both be playing at the Division III level this fall.

Anderson, a 6-foot-2 point guard, committed to Lebanon Valley College (Pa.) last Tuesday. Fitzpatrick, a 6-4 shooting guard, followed that up by choosing Johns Hopkins (Md.) this morning.

The two were both all-Inter-Ac second-team selections this past season as the Friars went 12-14 overall (4-6 Inter-Ac), with Fitzpatrick averaging 13.1 ppg and 5.6 rpg while Anderson averaged 7.3 ppg and 7.1 apg.

"From the time we got the job, no two kids have bought into our program as much as Chris and Joey," said head coach John Harmatuk, who just finished his second season as head coach at Malvern Prep. "They are the foundation of what we are trying to build.

"I'm proud of their accomplishments. I feel their best basketball is ahead of them."

Lebanon Valley College, located in Annville--about 20 miles east of Harrisburg--has an undergrad population of around 1600; the Dutchmen went 12-13 overall this past season, with a 6-10 record in MAC Commonwealth play.

"Coach McAlester is a great coach and had a lot to offer," said Anderson, who's interested in studying business. "I went up to his visit and it's a really nice place and it seemed like a really good fit for me."

Johns Hopkins, a Baltimore school of about 6,000 undergrads, plays in the Cenntennial Conference, along with local schools Haverford, Swarthmore and others. The Blue Jays are coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance, making the Sweet 16 and going 25-5 overall (16-2 Centennial).
