The 2025 summer of grassroots basketball is just getting underway, starting a four-month stretch that will see tournaments and showcases taking place all over the Delaware Valley (and around the country). Select Events held its first local showcase, the Tune-Up, at the Sixth Man Center this weekend, with all six courts in the facility’s main gymnasium hosting 15U through 17U action (and some younger age groups) from Saturday morning through late Sunday afternoon.

Here’s who stood out over the course of the weekend:

Kayden Baratta (2026 | Lady Runnin’ Rebels HGSL 17U)

Baratta impressed on Saturday in a game against Comets’ Select 17s, the 5-foot-9 guard from Phoenixville scoring 16 points and grabbing six rebounds to lead her team to a 13-point win. Baratta did a great job of getting downhill and creating contact, getting to the line four different times (6-7 FT), including an and-one on a circus shot finish where she split two defenders and, even while falling over, still had enough presence of mind to flip the ball up and over the rim. She also showed off her well-known shooting range with a pair of 3-pointers, and played tough, physical defense as well.

Kinsley Beckham (2027 | Germantown Panthers Nat’l 16U)
After her team got out to a slow start and four points in the first half against LGB Select, Beckham exploded in the second and took over the game. She stripped the ball away from opposing guards and took it all the way for multiple transition baskets. With a quick release, the Maryland native extended her range to knock down a pair of catch-and-shoot threes. Beckham finished with 18 points, three rebounds, and five steals.

Kendall Chiavelli (2027 | Lady Runnin' Rebels HGSL 16U)
A 5-9 guard from Downingtown East, Chiavelli was a nightmare on defense when she faced Team Miller. She repeatedly shot the gap for steals and deflections to get out in transition. There, she thrived and showcased her agility as she maneuvered around defenders for efficient fastbreak buckets. Throughout the weekend in other viewings, she was the Rebels’ top scoring option, showing her ability to hit from deep as well as attack the buckets.

Alexis Eberz (2026 | Comets GUAA 17U)
Eberz was good from everywhere as she lit up the scoreboard with 22 points, five boards, and four steals versus Team DAPA HGSL. She got in-rhythm with a cut to the basket, then proceeded to drill one jumper after another. With clean footwork off-the-catch and pulling up, Eberz cashed in twos and threes. All the while, she kept scoring in the paint with touch shots. Her team defense was just as potent too, forcing turnovers from the help-side.

Kayla Eberz (2028 | Comets GUAA 15U)
Not to be out-done by her older sister, Eberz put on a show when her team played up against BBA S40 16U. She scored from a number of spots inside the arc with her slashing and off-ball movement. Her determination to get to the cup earned her trips to the line, where she shot 9-for-10. A two-way wing, her defense was spectacular as well. Eberz caused a ton of havoc on-ball and from the weak-side. After some clutch free throws to put the game away, she finished with 24 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals, and three blocks.

Kirsten Gibson (2027 | Comets GUAA 16U)

It makes sense that Gibson was playing with a lot of confidence this weekend — after all, the 5-8 sophomore is fresh off winning a New Jersey Group 3 state championship with Cherry Hill West. Gibson was the Lions’ leading scorer as the team became the first in Cherry Hill history — East or West, boys or girls — to win a state title. She was terrific in a watch on Sunday afternoon, putting up 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, a steal and a block, knocking down a pair of smooth catch-and-shoot triples, finishing an and-one, and flipping in a nifty backhand layup around a defender while showing she can play both guard spots.

Ali Kaltenbacher (2027 | PA Royals 17U)
Kalentebacher was a force on the glass for the Royals in a win over the WeR1 Lady Sharks on Sunday morning. Despite being one of the few current sophomores in a game full of juniors, the 5-11 Kaltenbacher was the most physical presence in the post, grabbing eight offensive rebounds as part of 14 overall boards. Kaltenbacher knew when and where to be on the court for missed shots, but she also fought off opponents for loose balls and contested boards, then did a good job of kicking the ball back out to the perimeter if an open shot wasn’t there. She also compiled 14 points, going 4-of-4 from the foul line and knocking down a 15-foot jumper in the second half, and grabbed two steals, two blocks and an assist.

Daniela Maletaky (2026 | NJ Rise 17U)
Nearly impossible to stop when she got downhill, Maletsky put up 13 points and 4 boards in the first half when her squad took down Comets Select. The 5-10 guard finished through contact extremely well. Whether she was driving or on-the-move in transition, she powered her way into the paint and converted at the free throw line. Maletsky even battled for offensive rebounds and second-chance points to help her team pull away early.

Naiya Murphy (2026 | WeR1 Lady Sharks 17U)
Murphy showed out in the Lady Sharks’ game against the PA Royals on Sunday. The 6-0 forward out of Ursuline (Del.), who’s from Avon Grove, had her inside-out game working as she compiled 17 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks in a well-rounded effort. Murphy’s jumper was on point as she knocked down three 3-pointers on six attempts, including a couple quick-trigger catch-and-shoots where she bounced out to the arc and got a shot off in a hurry while keeping her form.

Abbie McFillin + Brooke Stagliano (2027 | Comets GUAA 16U)
Against Mid-Penn Motion HGSL, the perimeter defense from McFillin and Stagliano made all the difference. A guard from Paul VI (N.J.), Stagliano aggressively crowded that ball and blocked three jumpers. McFillin, the Archbishop Carroll guard, made her presence felt all over the floor as she led the team in rebounds and steals. They each scored within the flow of the offense and picked up the intensity in the second half to extend their team's lead from seven to 18.

Ishana + Radhi Sundararajan (2028 | Comets GUAA 15U)
It was a good weekend for both Sundararajan twins, with the Westtown freshmen combining for 10 steals in a win over the Lady Runnin’ Rebels on Sunday morning, as they eventually won their bracket later that day. Isahana was especially impressive in the morning victory on the offensive end as well, hitting two 3-pointers as part of a 13-point effort, two catch-and-shoot triples from different spots on the arc, along with a driving floater and another couple finishes around the rim. Both sisters have great length and use it well defensively, getting in all sorts of passing lanes.

Olivia White (2026 | NY Gauchos 3SSB 17U)
The Gauchos were too much for Central PA Elite in a big win on Saturday afternoon, a group of talented wings and guards overwhelming in the full-court and half-court. Leading that charge was White, a 5-9 guard from St. Luke’s (N.Y.), who racked up five steals along with nine points and three assists as she was a defensive wrecking ball, constantly reading passing lanes or bothering her defensive mark one-on-one into coughing it up; her steals didn’t represent the full number of turnovers she caused, and quite a few Gaucho layups came off plays she started.

Penny Wolf (2028 | Lady Runnin’ Rebels HGSL 15U)
Wolf was a ball of energy for the Runnin’ Rebels in a Saturday afternoon win over the NJ Rise. Her defensive presence was a big reason the Rebels held the Rise to just five points in the second half and 14 for the game, as she collected five steals and applied all sorts of on-ball pressure, despite at 5-5 being one of the smaller girls on the court. The Methacton freshman, who got a lot of varsity experience this year, also knocked down a 3-pointer as part of nine points, adding two rebounds and two assists in a balanced offensive effort in a low-scoring game.
