For more than a decade, City of Basketball Love has been running the area’s best one-day camps for high school ballplayers, showcasing thousands of talented young athletes over the years. Last year, we expanded into holding girls’ camps first the first time, with more than 150 participants in our first two one-day events.
This year, we’re doing something new yet again.
For the first time, CoBL is running a middle school camp — specifically a one-day camp for girls in the 6th through 8th grades — on Saturday, March 22 at Cardinal O’Hara High School. (Note: We had originally scheduled for March 15, but pushed it back one week due to scheduling conflicts.) This camp is designed for girls who want to play varsity high school basketball, giving them a chance to work on their games while getting an understanding of what it takes to play and succeed at the next level and beyond.
Our one-day camp will feature a mix of skills and drills, Q&A sessions for players and parents and games, including 1-v-1 and 3-v-3 competition as well as and refereed 5-v-5 action. All players will get to work with some of the area’s best current high school girls basketball players, who will serve as their coaches and mentors throughout the day, while also getting to hear from other guest speakers as well as the CoBL staff.
Registration for this camp is $70 and includes a CoBL camp t-shirt.

Camp Director: Steph Garafolo
An assistant women's basketball coach at Haverford College, Steph has been CoBL's Camps and Events Director since June 2023.
Born in South Philadelphia, Steph moved out to Havertown as a child and spent her formative years in Delaware County, where she was immersed in hoops from a young age. She went to Cardinal O'Hara, helping the Lions to a Catholic League championship in 2013 as a junior before going to Penn State, where she played club basketball and helped fundraise for THON, the school's annual 46-hour dance marathon which raises money for childhood cancer patients at the local children's hospital.
Upon graduating from Penn State in 2018, Steph spent the next five years working in sales and marketing for various organizations, including Hershey, the Wilmington Blue Rocks and the New York Jets, before returning home during the COVID pandemic, leaving the corporate world in 2023 and joining CoBL as its Events Director. Before coaching at Haverford College, she spent four years (2020-24) as an assistant coach at her alma mater, Cardinal O'Hara, helping the Lions to the PCL and PIAA 5A championships in 2022 and the PIAA 6A championship in 2024. She also coaches for Comets Basketball as the head coach of their top 14U (2029) squad.
