The area’s private schools might be small, but boy are they mighty.

The amount of talent stacked into programs in the Friends’ Schools League, Inter-Academic League and several other independent and boarding schools in the five-county CoBL coverage region is hard to believe, and it just seems to be getting better every year. 

Without further ado, the boys Non-PIAA All-CoBL selections for the 2023-24 season:

Player of the Year: Will Riley, Jr., The Phelps School
In his second season at Phelps, the 6-foot-9 wing from Canada averaged 26.5 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 4.1 apg and 1.0 spg, while shooting 47.3% from the field and 40.1% from three (61). He helped the Lions reach the PAISAA title game for the first time since 2015 and win a pair of games at the National Preps Schools championship.

First Team
KJ Cochran, Jr., Perkiomen School:
The West Chester East transfer averaged 15.4 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.3 apg and 1.1 spg for the Panthers in his first year at the prep school level. He reached 1,000 career points during the season and helped Perk go back-to-back for the PAISAA championship.

Matt Gilhool, Jr., Penn Charter
Gilhool, a 6-foot-11 forward, averaged 15 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 1.1 apg and 1.5 bpg, while shooting 57.1% from the field. He eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone and helped the Quaker to an outright Inter-Ac championship.

Tristen Guillouette, Sr., George School
Even after getting a late start at George, Guillouette, a 6-9 forward, starred for the Cougars, averaging 18.4 ppg, 10.5 rpg and 1.5 bpg, while shooting 60% from the floor. The first team All-Friends Schools League forward is a Florida Gulf Coast commit. 

Bahsil Laster, Sr., Academy of the New Church
Laster averaged 16.1 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 4.6 apg and 1.9 spg and shot 45% from the field to earn first team All-Friends Schools League honors. The 6-5 wing helped the Lions go unbeaten in the FSL this year and captured the program’s first league title since 2009 before a run to the PAISAA semifinals.

Ryan Williams, Sr., Malvern Prep
The Northeastern commit was a three-time first team All-Inter-Ac selection during his time with the Friars. He averaged 22.0 ppg, 2,7 apg and 6.1 rpg and shot 47% from the field and 40% from 3-point range in his final season.

Second Team
Devin Booker, Jr., Cristo Rey
Booker, a 6-foot-4 guard, guided the Blue Pride to back-to-back Penn-Jersey League championships and the first PAISAA Tournament win in program history. He averaged 17.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg, shot 54% from the field and 43% from the three-point line.

Jordan Dill, Soph., Germantown Friends School
Dill rose up the all-time scoring list at GFS this season to second with 1,692 career points. The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 27.3 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 2.8 apg and 1.6 spg to earn a spot on the All-Friends Schools League first team list

Kevin McCarthy, Sr., Episcopal Academy
McCarthy earned his third straight first team All-Inter-Ac as he averaged 19.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg and 2.0 apg, knocking down 90 three-pointers. The 6-foot-4 guard is headed to Army next season.

Gabe Tanner, Jr., Perkiomen School
Tanner was one of the holdovers who helped the Panthers to a second straight PAISAA championship and an appearance at the national prep school championships. The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 12.7 ppg, 4 rpg, 4 apg and 1.5 spg.

Cameron Wallace, Jr., Westtown School
Wallace and the Moose made a run to the Friends Schools League and PAISAA semifinals. He averaged 18.4 ppg and 6.8 rpg, while shooting 58% from the field. Named 2023-24 All-Friends Schools League First Team. 

Jake West, Jr., Penn Charter
Following two seasons at Archbishop Carroll, West averaged 14.4 ppg, 4.1 apg, 2.8 rpg and 1.6 spg, while shooting 44.1% from the field for the Inter-Ac champions. The 6-foot-3 guard earned first team All-Inter-Ac honors.

Third Team
Silas Graham, Fr., Haverford School
Graham averaged 14.7 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 4.4 apg and 2.4 spg, while shooting 53.3% from the field in his second varsity season for the Fords. He was a first team All-Inter-Ac selection for the league’s second place finisher.

Jacob Hudson, Sr., The Phelps School
Hudson averaged 15.1 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 4.1 apg, 1.6 spg and 1.0 bpg, while shooting 47.1% from the field and 39% from deep. The 6-foot-3 guard who came to Phelps this season via Texas is headed to Gardner-Webb next year.

Muhsin Muhammad, Sr., Friends’ Central School
The 6-foot-4 guard helped FCS reach the FSL title game this season in his second year with the Phoenix. Muhammad averaged 17.3 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 2.1 apg and 1.3 spg to earn first team All-FSL honors.

Fazl Oshodi, Sr., Friends’ Central
Oshodi was the other go-to-guy for the Phoenix, averaging 14.5 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 1.6 apg and 1.7 spg. He earned first team All-Friends Schools League honors for the FSL runner-up.

Onyx Nnani, Jr., Phelps School
The 6-foot-9 wing from Canada averaged 13.8 ppg, 8.6 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.0 spg and 1.0 bpg, while shooting 48.8% from the field and 30% from the three-point line. He helped the Lions reach the PAISAA championship game.

Bryce Rollerson, Jr., Germantown Academy
Rollerson became the first GA player on the All-Inter-Ac first team since 2020. The 6-foot guard averaged a league-high 22.4 ppg to go along with 4.3 rpg, 3.0 apg and 1.7 spg for the Patriots.

Fourth Team
Ronald Brown III, Sr., Springside Chestnut Hill Academy
The recent Millersville commit averaged 13.2 ppg, 2.4 apg, 6.5 rpg, 1.1 spg and 1.0 bpg for SCH Academy. Brown, a 6-foot-2 guard, earned first team All-Inter-Ac honors. 

Amari Dow, Sr., Cristo Rey
After battling injuries as a junior, Dow averaged 17.2 ppg, 4.6 apg and 6.5 rpg, while shooting 55% from the field in his senior year. The Chestnut Hill recruit helped the Blue Pride to a second straight Penn-Jersey title and a PAISAA win.

Isaiah Marshall, Jr., Friends Select
Marshall earned first team All-Friends Schools League honors for the league’s fourth-place finisher. The 6-foot-1 guard averaged 18 ppg and 4.0 rpg to earn first team All-FSL honors. 

Zamir Parker-Barnes, Jr.,, Abington Friends School
Parker-Barnes reclassified and transferred to AFS this season after starting his career at Frankford. He averaged 14 ppg, 6 rpg, 2.5 apg and shot 47.5% from the field to earn first team All-FSL honors.

Jacob Meachem, Jr., Hill School
The Hill School 5-foot-9 point guard took the reins of an inexperienced team this season and tallied 14.0 ppg, 5.2 apg and 4.0 rpg, 5.2 agp, shooting 43% from the field. Meachem was a first team All-MAPL selection, helping the Blues to a 5-1 mark in the league (tied for first) and a runner-up finish in the MAPL tournament.

Ryan Warren, Soph., Academy of the New Church
Warren was a first team All-Friends Schools League selection for the league champion and PAISAA semifinalist. He tallied 11.6 ppg and 6.3 rpg, while shooting 64% from the field in his first season at ANC after transferring from La Salle College HS.
