The 2023 Delco Hoops Fall Showcase took place this weekend at Penncrest High School, with more than 40 teams from Southeastern PA (including a couple from Delaware and South Jersey).

Here’s who stood out to the CoBL staff in games we were able to catch this weekend:

Bradford Berwick (2026 | Delco Christian)
Bewick displayed various skills that will benefit Delco Christian throughout the season. At 6-foot-4, he took on the responsibility of a physical big in the second game of the day versus a rugged Kennett team. Berwick was 5-for-5 from the field knocking down both threes attempted in a Delco Christian offense that expects perimeter shooting from every position. He was active on the offensive glass with five rebounds (two putbacks) as part of his 12-point and 12-rebound double-double.

Ryan Black (2024 | Caravel Academy, Del.)
Black shot the ball with confidence in a Sunday win over West Chester Rustin, the 6-1 guard going for 15 points to lead his team in the victory. Black got almost all of his production on jumpers, hitting a couple long step-back 2s to start off his day, and banging in a couple 3-pointers to start the second half. Black hustled all game long, diving out of bounds to save a ball at one point, throwing it backwards over his head, coming up with a couple steals, rebounds and assists as well.

Bryce Correia (2027 | Coventry Christian)
Correia is lightning quick with the ball in his hand and a decisive lead guard as a freshman. He can get downhill against truly tough defenders, as he did against Delco Christian in Saturday’s game. His penetration sets the table for his players as he forces the help defender to make a decision for him to either pull up in the lane or dish to a diving big man for the finish at the rim. Off the bounce, he nailed a side-step three off of contact driving downhill. We look forward to seeing the development of Correia as a scorer and lead guard.

Bryan Dorneman (2024 | Dock Mennonite)
Dock Mennonite closed out their day with a 30-plus-point victory over Holy Cross (N.J.). Dorneman scored the first bucket of the game on a fastbreak layup in the first minute, and he continued his scoring at a similarly efficient rate. The 6-2 shooting guard totaled 14 points in about ten minutes. Three early makes from beyond the arc caused the defense to attempt to deny him the ball. He showed a craftiness in getting open however, knocking down a shot running full speed off a screen, and a dribble hand off after setting a screen for a teammate.

Matt Gardler (2025 | Marple Newtown)
Marple’s offensive attack is bolstered by the speedy lead guard. Gardler demonstrated the ability to score in a number of ways versus a big & athletic Central Bucks West Team. He is adept at scoring on the move.  He knocked down triples from the corner when the defense allowed it but the majority of his time on the court is spent in motion. He forced the CB West perimeter defenders to make decisions on the fly and in those moments he found cutting teammates and seized opportunities to drive to the basket where he was not afraid to finish amongst the trees.  His fearlessness with the basketball in his hand makes him a constant threat in this aggressive Marple Newtown offense that is always looking to push the pace.

Donald Hairston (2024 | Penn Wood)
Hairston’s a terrific slasher to the hoop with his right hand, and he was doing it over and over again against Neshaminy. The lanky 6-4 wing guard was blowing by opposing defenders to get to the rim, where he racked up 14 points in the victory. Hairston’s bouncy and long, which helps him stretch out past defenders and get to the bucket and also helps him be disruptive on the defensive end, as he came away with several steals to get things started in transition.

Adam Herrenkohl (2024 | Lower Merion)
Herrenkohl was deeper in the Lower Merion rotation last year but looks ready to contribute in a big way based off his performance in a win over Constitution on Sunday. The 6-2 combo guard is a strong athlete with a good frame, and he was making plays all over the court. His rebounding (eight boards) and playmaking (eight assists) especially stood out; he also finished with eight points, but those were the least important part of what he did.

Kyree Latimer (2024 | Constitution)
Latimer’s a tough character when he’s attacking the bucket, a trait the 6-3 wing showed throughout a game against Lower Merion on Sunday. Latimer plays with good pace when getting to the bucket, not rushing or frantic, and he absorbs contact both on his way to the hoop or in midair. Latimer scored 14 points in this outing, and added several rebounds and assists as well.

Beau Lyren (2025 | Delco Christian)
Lyren was part of a high powered guard core Delco Christian put on display today.  Lyren was able to stretch the defense with his perimeter shooting, his calling card for DC.  He was also able to find teammates in the flow of the offense and knocked down transition threes in both games today. He finished with 14 points and five assists in a 66-27 victory over Kennett.

Owen McCabe (2024 | Lower Merion)
McCabe shot the lights out for the Aces in a 62-50 win over Constitution on Sunday morning. The 5-11 guard, now playing a featured role for LM for the first time, went off for 27 points on 10-of-14 shooting (5-8 3PT), hitting shots from all over the floor. McCabe didn’t hesitate to pull up from well beyond the 3-point arc, and showed off his confidence with the ball in his hands by attacking the bucket in transition; he also cut well off the ball and got a few layups thanks to a few timely feeds from teammates.

Matthew McField (2026 | Engineering & Sciences)
E&S’s starting point guard as a freshman, McField looks like he’s grown a couple inches since the end of last year. The 6-1 guard led an energetic E&S bunch against Upper Moreland on Sunday afternoon in a hard-fought game, scoring at least 16 points in the win. He played with a ton of energy, getting up and down the court in a blur, and his teammates were constantly finding him heading towards the bucket; he also knocked down a few jumpers.

Mikey Mita (2026 | Penncrest)
While just a rising sophomore, the 6-7 Mita showed the ability to assert himself physically in a hard fought win over Church Farm. The Lions’ opponents applied full-court pressure for most of the game, and Mita was pivotal to breaking it down. He constantly made quick decisions from the high post area that led to open looks. Mita finished strong in the lane several times including a few dunks. He looked comfortable from the free throw line as well, in a game where Church Farm had to resort to fouling him late.

Khamai Orange (2025 | Delco Christian)
Orange’s impact on today’s 57-27 victory over Coventry Christian was measured in one word: dynamic. He was 8-of-14 from the field, constantly putting pressure on the defense. He finished the game with 19 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Defensively, he added a blistering six steals. At 6-foot-1, we even saw flashes of Orange working out defenders in the low post. He led a fast-paced Delco Christian offense which puts up points in a hurry.

Julian Phillips (2024 | Central Bucks West)
Phillips’ strong 6-3 frame and athleticism allowed him to influence the game on both ends in a double-digit win over Marple Newtown. A scoring threat from all three levels, CB West looked to get him open often. Phillips finished with around 20 points with at least three triples, and a few dunks to cap it off. Good anticipation allowed him to collect two blocks and two steals in the first half alone.
