MEDIA, Pa. — The 2022 Delco Hoops Showcase concluded on Sunday at Penncrest High School. With some schools soon concluding their fall schedules prior to the start of the high school season it was one of the final chances to see quite a few area teams before the real games begins.

Caught the last five sets of Sunday’s action. Here are the standouts from those games:

Qudire Bennett (2023 | Plymouth Whitemarsh)

Bennett put together a pair of 18-point outings in wins over West Chester Henderson and C.B. East to lead his team in both games. Per usual Bennett did his scoring from everywhere, whether that was cleaning up the offensive glass inside, getting out on the fast break or knocking down threes with ease. Bennett concluded his day with four 3-point shots against C.B. East. He showed off some defensive chops as well, swiping a pair of steals against Henderson to start the PW fastbreak.

Jake Kapp (2023 | Boyertown)
Kapp was a little out of rhythm early against CB West and never quite got his shot working (one three) but he figured out a way to still put together a 13-point outing. (It should be noted this was the second game of the day for the Bears, who were playing with just five). There are still moments where his game lacks a little smoothness but his raw athleticism (like catching the ball with one hand in the air and in the same motion zipping it to an open teammate) help him consistently produce. He had some nice finds and was fun to watch flying around on defense, taking a few gambles for steals and blocks but having the speed to recover.

Max Lebisky (2024 | Phoenixville)
Lebisky took a while to get going but finished with 11 points and a pair of assists for Phoenixville in a loss to Bishop Shanahan. The 6-foot-5 forward/wing had success driving to the basket in the second half, finishing effectively. He showed off his three ball and play making and also came away with the game-clinching steal against Lower Merion earlier in the day. On a very young Phoenixville, Lebisky will likely have to lead the way frequently this season. He has a unique game that should help elevate his teammates' play as well.

Julian Phillips (2024 | Central Bucks West)
Phillips had the hot hand against Downingtown East, knocking down four threes for 12 points, most of them coming off the feed from classmate Matt Engle, who also impressed. Phillips settled into the midrange against Boyertown and showed off some soft touch. He competes on the glass, securing a few extra possessions for CB West on the offense boards and seems to have some good size on the defensive end. He could really help the Bucks this year as he starts asserting himself more after making the jump to the varsity level.

Nyle Ralph-Beyer (2024 | West Chester Henderson

Ralph-Beyer scored 19 points in a tight loss to Plymouth Whitemarsh. He looked extremely confident shooting the ball, getting ready to put the ball up as soon as he caught it in the corner and also pulling up and hitting a shot off the bounce. Ralph-Beyer’s special athleticism was on display when he rebounded his own miss and finished without ever touching the ground during the process of his two shot attempts. He missed the attempt but cocked back for a powerful base line slam. An aggressive Ralph-Beyer will be a scary sight for Henderson opponents this season.

Ben Rodner-Tims (2023 | Bishop Shanahan)
Rodner-Tims had 18 points and a pair of steals in a win over Phoenixville and probably could have done a lot more scoring if he wanted to, trying to get some of teammates involved as well. He knocked down a pair of threes to start the day then opted to get to the basket, which he did with ease. The 6-foot guard has a tight handle and plays with a pace. In the lane he finished contested shots in a multitude of ways, also adding a pair of and-ones to his line. His coach said several Division III programs are interested in his services.

Connor Shanahan (2023 | Downingtown East)
Shanahan showed last season that he can fill it up, and it looks like he will be in for more of the same this season, finishing with 23 points in a win over CB West. The lefty can really create space with his dribble and being left handed is certainly an advantage getting off his pull-up jumpers in the lane as a 5-11 guard. He has quick hands on defense and tallied three steals … good luck catching up to him in transition.
