One-hundred and twelve.

That’s how many games will take place at St. Joe’s Prep this weekend for the second half of Philly Live, also known as Philly Live II. Imhotep Charter head coach Andre Noble and Archbishop Wood boss John Mosco have put together another deep field with a mix of local, regional, and national programs coming to the City of Brotherly Love.

Some of the prominent non-local teams — like Gill St. Bernard’s (N.J.), Pocono Mt. West (Pa.), and Bergen Catholic (N.J.) — are making their second Philly Live appearance of June. But many others are coming to town after playing elsewhere last weekend. Here are a few of those teams to keep an eye on:

  • St. Peter’s Prep (N.J.) features one top-50 2022 guard and Villanova commit Mark Armstrong. The 6-3 combo guard is a tremendous athlete with great rise on his jumper and a smooth, heads-up on-ball game, but he’s not the only talent on the Marauders. Junior wings Matthew Kinzler and Jackson Tindall are both scholarship-level players, and sparkplug senior Alif Bass heads a group of a few small-college seniors as well. State power Roselle Catholic (N.J.), which along with St. Peter’s played the first weekend in Elizabeth as part of NJ Live, brings a roster headlined by five-star junior guard Simeon Wilcher, owner of more than a dozen Power 5 offers. He’s flanked on the perimeter by senior D-I target Jamarques Lawrence and talented sophomore Jaiden Glover, a transfer from St. Benedict’s.

  • Four different Florida teams are making the flight up from the Sunshine State: Dr. Phillips, located just outside Orlando; Bartow High School, from the central part of the peninsula, about an hour west of Tampa; Windermere Prep, also from just outside Orlando; and Miami-Southridge, located unsurprisingly on the southern side of Miami. The reigning FHSAA 7A state champion, Dr. Phillips figures to be one of the main draws of the entire event among college coaches. Dr. Phillips’ 6-10 post Ernest Udeh has skyrocketed up recruiting boards, with the Temple priority and 4.0 student having earned offers from Kansas and a host of other high-majors in recent weeks. On the perimeter, classmates Riley Kugel and Denzel Aberdeen both picked up Power 5 offers of their own with their play during the first live weekend in Georgia. Miami-Southridge has a Division I recruit of its own, with 6-5 wing guard Koree Cotton having come over from nearby South Miami HS and owning an offer from Florida Gulf Coast. Windermere Prep wing Jayden Williams has also drawn D-I interest with his play this spring for 1Family.

  • Gonzaga College (D.C.) is annually one of the top programs in the D.C./Baltimore/Maryland area, and though the Eagles have a younger group this year, they’re not short on upperclassman talent. Led by senior lead guard and high-major recruit Devin Dinkins, Gonzaga also features rising senior wing Jared Turner and athletic post Nick Evans among a group that figures to be near the top of the WCAC once again.

  • St. John’s College (D.C.) has become a power under coach Patrick Behan, with eyes on a WCAC title in the coming years. Behan’s roster features three high-major high-major targets in versatile 2022 wing guard Christian Watson, bruising 2023 post Amani Hansberry and mile-long 2024 forward Donnie Freeman. They’re flanked on the perimeter by another D-I target in Shane Lancaster, who plays his AAU ball locally with Under Armour-backed WeR1. Known for being a top academic school and home over the years to many presidents’ children, Sidwell Friends (D.C.) also has a couple D-I prospects in rising senior forward George Perkins, who holds an offer from La Salle, and rising junior guard Cameron Gillus.

All those programs are in addition to all the local talent involved: Imhotep Charter’s high-level junior duo of Justin Edwards and Rahmir Barno, plus senior wing Mo Abdullah, who picked up his first two D-I offers this week; Roman Catholic’s senior D-I duo of Daniel Skillings and Khalil Farmer plus junior point guard Xzayvier Brown; Camden’s D.J. Wagner and Aaron Bradshaw, and so many more.

This event, like Philly Live I, will be closed to the public. Games can be streamed here: recruitingaccess.info/phillyliveses2/
