Strengths: Absolute sniper from beyond the arc with a picture-perfect jumper; squares up well to the basket each time, with a consistent and quick release and good elevation that allows him to get his shot off against most defenders. Knows how to trail the break and find his way to open spots on the perimeter. Moves his feet well on the defensive end and has good reach, allowing him to defend all three perimeter positions.
Weaknesses: At only 150 pounds despite his 6-5 frame, it's clear that Melchior needs to add muscle to his frame to be an effective defender at the next level, as well as be able to take the ball to the rim and absorb some contact.
Overall: A pure shooting guard with great size and the ability to catch and release in a snap, Melchior's going to hear from a wide variety of schools during his senior year, especially if he can add on some more muscle and show he can take the ball to the hoop against tough defenders. A big senior season could even result in him getting some D-I looks, but he'll definitely get D-II recruitment from schools who love to space the floor and utilize shooters.
