Strengths: This 6-2 point guard is very impressive. Has outstanding height and body for the point position. A really good explosive first step that he often uses to blow by defenders. Has a good jump-shot, both off the dribble and spot up, with a quick release. Creates for his teammates as the point guard should, which you rarely see now with the outbreak of so many combo guards. A good floor general who took command of his Parkland team and led them to a very good season.
Weaknesses: Will dance with the ball too much sometimes when trying to go isolation. Tries to press the issue of getting to the basket often when the defense is giving him open jumpers.
Overall: If Cross decides to stick with basketball, being as though he is also the starting quarterback for Parkland, he could be a very good low-to-mid Division I point guard. With another summer to improve on his game, the outstanding athlete has to choose soon with coaches concerned about which sport he will decide to play at the next level.
