Strengths: Incredibly versatile wing can play face-up or with his back to the basket. Has an easy stroke from the 3-point range, and is comfortable knocking down mid-range jumpers as well. Knows when to take advantage of a mismatch and will post up smaller opponents, utilizing a number of post moves to get his shot off, including a well-developed step-back. Lots of length, helps him be a good defender who can defend almost all five positions; is a good weak-side shot-blocker and can run the fast break as well.
Weaknesses: Still needs to get a lot stronger; year he spent sidelined due to injury set him back in that regard and he’s not as physically developed as many of his classmates. Does a lot of things rather well, but needs to continue to develop his skill set--tighten his handle, get a quicker release.
Overall: Though he missed his entire sophomore season with a broken leg, Hunter has recovered and is back on track as a high-major wing thanks to his frame and his skill set. As he gets stronger and refines his game, the sky’s the limit.
