The Podcast of Basketball Love is back -- and much, much better than ever!

It's a relaunch of the PoBL, as hosts Matt Martucci and Joe Tordy take over the reigns, with CoBL's Josh Verlin joining along to talk City 6 hoops and beyond.

This week's podcast serves as an introduction to the new hosts, as well as a quick discussion of the City 6 preview. The trio discuss the recent injury to St. Joe's Charlie Brown, as well as Penn and Villanova scrimmage thoughts plus discussions of Drexel, Temple and La Salle's upcoming seasons. Stay tuned as we start podcasting every Monday evening from here on out, with podcasts featuring guests, commentary, quotes, analysis and more!

Note: We apologize for the buzzing noise over the first few minutes of the podcast. It gets better as the podcast goes on. The faulty cable has since been fired.

Here's a little more about Matt and Joe:

  • Matt Martucci is entering his ninth season as the Saint Joseph's Hawks radio play-by-play announcer, and has called over 200 men's basketball games alongside broadcast partner Joe Lunardi. He joined Philadelphia's Sportsradio 94 WIP back in May as an update anchor and talk show host after spending five years at competing station 97.5 The Fanatic. He also made his debut with Westwood One Radio in February 2014 as an update anchor during its coverage of the Sochi Olympic Winter Games and served in the same role on the network's Rio coverage in the summer of 2016. A native of Brodheadsville, Pa., he completed his master’s degree in business administration from Saint Joseph’s in December 2010 and resides in West Deptford, N.J., with his wife Stephanie.
  • Joe Tordy is a radio and television sports broadcaster.  He calls college basketball, football, soccer, and lacrosse for the University of Pennsylvania, with his work being featured on ESPN3, NBC Sports Philadelphia, and the Ivy League Network. He can be heard on-air on 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia. He is a graduate of Fordham University and a proud alumnus of WFUV-FM.
