Like too many of his teammates, Lamarr Kimble's season is ending early.

After undergoing an X-ray on his left foot, it was determined the 6-foot Saint Joseph's sophomore will need surgery on the fifth metatarsal, which will keep him out two months.

The Philadelphia native and Neumann-Goretti product went down in the second half of Saturday's loss to UMass.

A team tri-captain, Kimble was leading all active players on his team with 15.3 points per game. He was also fourth in the nation in minutes per game (37.4) and had played seven full games for the Hawks.

Kimble is the third St. Joe's starter to suffer a season-ending injury. Shavar Newkirk went down on December 30 game against George Washington with a torn ACL, while Pierfrancesco Oliva missed the entire season with a knee injury sustained in the offseason.

Freshman forward Lorenzo Edwards, who only saw action in one November game, underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in January.

Saint Joseph's (10-14, 3-9 Atlantic 10), which has lost four straight, heads down to VCU on Tuesday for the first of six remaining regular-season contests.
