La Salle was never able to overcome a less-than-stellar finish to the first half Saturday night, falling on the road to George Mason by a final of 95-75.

At First…
Early on, La Salle was able to build up an advantage thanks to a quick 8-0 spurt that opened a 21-10 lead by the 13:25 mark on an Amar Stukes triple. The Patriots responded immediately, however, scoring the next 15 points over a span of five minutes to take control of the game and get their offense going.

After a bomb by Jaire Grayer opened up the half’s largest lead, 47-32 in favor of George Mason, La Salle connected on three of four free throw attempts in the final minute to enter the break down by 12.

Turning Point…
Grayer opened the second frame with another three-pointer, putting his team back up by 15 and re-establishing momentum out of the gates. The Explorers were able to fight back to within five on a Jordan Price finish through contact at the 8:25 mark. Within the next four minutes, however the Patriots had found themselves back up by 12 on a triple by Marquise Moore, and they never looked back.

Standout Stars…
Price had an impressive night in defeat for La Salle, leading his team with 21 points. Also having a strong game for the Explorers was Stukes who chipped in 14 points, three boards and five assists.

The Patriots were paced by a game-high 28 points and nine rebounds from Moore, while Grayer also finished with 22 points and seven boards.

Noteworthy Numbers…
63.3: George Mason had a phenomenal shooting today, shooting a blistering 63.3 percent from the field while going 10-of-18 from beyond the arc.

35: The Patriots out-battled La Salle on the glass, leading in the rebounding category by a margin of 35-21.
