After a valiant comeback to force not one, but two overtime period, Drexel fell on the road in a heartbeaker, 104-103 at the hands of Towson.

At First…
The shots were falling early for both teams, as Drexel opened up a quick 12-9 lead out of the gates just four minutes in on a jumper by Austin Williams. By the 13:21 mark, Towson had cut the Drexel lead to one on a Mike Morsell triple. The Tigers’ first lead didn’t come until the last shot of the half, as Justin Gorham sent his team into the break up 43-42.

After an airtight first 15 minutes of the second half, the Tigers opened up the game's first double-digit lead at 75-64 on a pair of William Adala Moto free throws with 5:24 to play, but Drexel would not be silent down the stretch. The Dragons fought all the way back to force overtime on a pair of Kurk Lee free throws after scoring the final six points of regulation.

Turning Point...
In the extra period, things remained close throughout, as Drexel and Towson continued to trade clutch baskets. Following a couple of foul shots by Morsell, the Tigers entered the final minute up by three. The Dragons, however, had some heroics left over from regulation, as Lee tied things up with a layup to force another five minutes.

Unfortunately for Drexel, there wasn't enough luck left for a second overtime, as the Dragons failed to capitalize on their final possession down by one.

Standout Stars...
As he has done all year, Rodney Williams had another strong night for Drexel, leading the Dragons with 27 points and 16 rebounds. Austin Williams also added 12 points and six boards in defeat.

As for Towson, it was Morsell who had the game’s top performance, dropping a game-high 32 points in the victory. John Davis finished with 19 points, while snatching an impressive 17 rebounds.

Noteworthy Numbers…
60: The Tigers enjoyed impressive bench production, as their bench players combined to score 60 points and outscore the starters, thanks largely in part to the efforts of Morsell and Davis.

6: With 10 minutes of extra basketball, there were six different players that fouled out.
