Penncrest High School will host two dozen area high school teams for the Delco Shootout this Saturday, bringing together many of the best programs from Delaware County along with several other notable teams from around District 1.

Not surprisingly, the Central League is very well-represented, with Lower Merion, Conestoga, Garnet Valley, Marple-Newtown, Radnor, Springfield (Delco.) and Upper Darby as well as the hosts in the field. Defending Suburban One champs Central Bucks West are also involved, as are Catholic League squads Archbishop Wood and Bonner-Prendergast.

There will be several Division I prospects throughout the event: Episcopal Academy’s Nick Alikakos, a tough-minded 6-foot-7 combo forward, has offers from Lafayette, Hartford and more; Church Farm’s towering duo of 6-11 rising junior Fred Odhiambo and 6-10 rising sophomore Jon Bol Ajak will make the Griffins a must-watch team this year; Valley Forge has its own impressive interior duo in 6-11 Abraham Deng and 6-8 Will Colleran, both rising juniors; Lower Merion senior Terrell Jones leads an up-and-coming Aces group with some talented underclassmen; Archbishop Wood rising senior Collin Gillespie and rising junior Tyree Pickron are two reasons why the Vikings should once again be a top-5 caliber team in the PCL.

The full list of participating teams: Academy New Church, Archbishop Wood, Bonner-Prendergast, Central Bucks West, Christopher Dock, Church Farm, Conestoga, Episcopal Academy, Garnet Valley, Hazelton, Lower Merion, Marple-Newtown, Methacton, Oxford, Penncrest, Phoenixville, Plumstead Christian, Radnor, Springfield (Delco.), Sun Valley, Valley Forge Military Academy, Upper Darby, Upper Moreland, West Chester East
