The most famous shot in Villanova history will not be the last one Kris Jenkins takes in a Wildcats uniform.

The NCAA Championship Game hero announced on his Twitter page Monday night that he will return to Villanova for his senior season after considering an early entry to the NBA Draft.

Jenkins entertained the idea of leaving after his junior season, but he was not one of the 59 players invited to this year’s scouting combine. He averaged 13.6 points per game in his junior year and was phenomenal down the stretch for Villanova. Jenkins averaged 18.6 points in the Wildcats’ final 14 games of the season and, of course, hit the buzzer-beating three to top North Carolina for the title.

The 6-foot-6 guard was Villanova’s best 3-point shooter last season and will give Jay Wright’s club a veteran presence and guarantees at least two starters will be back in 2016-17.

Jenkins’ classmate, Josh Hart, will take longer to make his NBA Draft decision. Hart, a 6-5 wing and Villanova’s leading scorer, was invited to the scouting combine -- which takes place May 11-15. Hart will have until May 25 to choose if he will enter the draft or return to Villanova, and he said he plans on taking most of that time to decide.
