After another hard-fought forty minutes, the Delaware Blue Hens dropped their ninth straight game to the Northeastern Huskies, by a final score of 69-60, who they were drubbed by just two weeks prior.

At First…
The Hens started the game very well, opening up a 7-2 lead, and their success continued foe the rest of the first half. When Anthony Mosley dropped in a layup to go up 26-17 with 1:30 to go, it looked as though UD might be able to work some magic and end their skid.

Delaware would enter the half up 28-23.

Turning Point…
UD’s magic began to fade as the second half progressed, and a 16-2 Northeastern run transformed what had been a five-point Delaware advantage into a nine-point Husky lead that would last the rest of the way.

The Blue Hens fought back to as a few as six in the remaining eight minutes, but were unable to come back once they relinquished their lead.

Shining Stars…
Marvin King-Davis
had yet another double-double for Delaware, dropping a team-high 23 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.

The leading scorer for the game, however, was Northeastern’s David Walker, who scored 24 on a 5-of-13 three-point performance. Fellow Husky Quincy Ford also added 18 points and 8 boards.

Noteworthy Numbers…
4: Delaware struggled to capitalize on Northeastern’s eight turnovers, putting up just four points off of their takeaways. Also, the Hens struggled once again to score from long distance, making just four of their 16 three-point shots.

Up Next…
Delaware (5-12, 0-6 CAA) vs. UNC-Wilmington (Jan. 21, 7:00 p.m.)
Northeastern (12-7, 4-2 CAA) vs. Hofstra (Jan. 21, 8:00 p.m.)
