St. Joseph’s rolled to its third consecutive Atlantic 10 win, drubbing Fordham, 80-55, on Saturday afternoon at Hagan Arena. The Hawks (14-3, 4-1 Atlantic 10) dominated in nearly every major statistical category and DeAndre’ Bembry led all scorers with 26 points.

At first…
St. Joe’s never trailed in the game and really started to pull away toward the end of the first half. The Hawks led by 12 points at the break thanks in large part to the sheer number of attempts they were taking. St. Joe’s combined to take 44 field goals and free throws in the first 20 minutes, while Fordham had just 26 (two were from the foul line). The Rams turned it over 10 times in the first half.

Turning point…
The Rams scored just five points in the first 11 minutes of the second half as St. Joe’s completely ran away with the game. Bembry scored a layup on a backdoor cut – one of the many times the Hawks utilized the backdoor – on the half’s first possession, and St. Joe’s never looked back.

Shining stars...
Bembry had 14 of his points in the first half and also finished with 12 rebounds. Aaron Brown also had himself a nice afternoon with 12 points and six rebounds.

Noteworthy number…
14.

That’s how many offensive rebounds the Hawks had in the game. St. Joe’s had nine rebounds on the offensive glass in the first half. The team also held a stout, 41-27, rebounding edge in the game.

Up next…
St. Joe’s (14-3, 4-1) at Penn (1/20, 9 p.m.)
Fordham (10-6, 1-4) vs. George Mason (1/20, 7 p.m.)
