RICHMOND, Va.--After having knocked off then-no. 25 Dayton, the La Salle Explorers quickly turned around to face a tough Atlantic 10 road test against Richmond, which ended in a convincing win for the Spiders, who ran away to a final score of 83-61.

At First...
La Salle’s first few minutes made it seem as though their win over Dayton wasn’t just a fluke; the Explorers opened up a quick 9-2 lead five minutes in. Richmond clawed back and took their first lead, 17-15, on a Marshall Wood three-pointer at the 9:42 mark.

Turning Point...
When Wood hit that trey, La Salle answered with one of their own, but an ensuing basket by Terry Allen marked the last time the Explorers would see a lead for the remainder of the evening. The Spiders closed the half on a 21-9 stretch that opened up a 40-27 halftime lead, and they never had to look back from there, as La Salle wouldn’t even get back within single digits in the second half.

Shining Stars…
For La Salle, Jordan Price had himself another impressive night, dropping 19 points on top of four boards and four assists.

The player of the game however was on the opposing sideline, as it was Allen who led the way with 26 points, while also snagging 16 rebounds. Wood also had 17 points for the Spiders.

Noteworthy Numbers…
45: Richmond shot an outstanding 45-percent from beyond the arc, sending in 11 of their 24 long-range attempts.

0: Zero marks the amount of times the Explorers have won a game on an opposing floor this season against Division-I opponents; their lone road win came against Division-III Rowan.

Up Next…
