Sophomore Robby Carmody of No. 3 Mars suffered a hyperextended knee while attempting to rise up for a dunk attempt on Dec. 5 in the third quarter of the Planets’ 74-72 loss to Bethel Park in double overtime. Carmody, a 6-4 sophomore already holding offers from Pittsburgh, Duquesne, Xavier, Purdue and Penn State, scored 23 points before leaving the game. Expected to miss 10 days or more, Carmody may not be available for Mars’ journey to this weekend’s Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas.
