In a back-and-forth overtime battle, St. Joe's left north Broad St. victorious with a 66-65 win over Temple on Sunday at the Liacouras Center.

At first…
Temple held the lead for most of the first half, but never by more than five points. St. Joe’s star DeAndre Bembry picked up two fouls in 15 seconds around the 14-minute mark and was stuck to the bench for a good portion of the first half. Still, the Hawks stayed right with the Owls and took a two-point lead into halftime.

Turning point…
Lamarr Kimble hit his second crucial 3-pointer of the game with about a minute-and-a-half in overtime to put St. Joe’s up 66-64. It was St. Joe’s last bucket of the game. Obi Enechionyia got fouled on the next possession, but converted just one free throw.

Shining stars…
Enechionyia had a game-high 25 points and also grabbed 12 rebounds for Temple. For St. Joe’s, Bembry had 17 and 13 rebounds of his own. Lamarr Kimble, meanwhile, had 11 points off the bench. The freshman point guard played in the clutch for Phil Martelli’s team and also hit two crucial 3-pointers.

Noteworthy numbers…
Jaylen Bond was held to just seven points on 3-of-11 shooting. …Isaiah Miles went just 2-for-10 from the field, but scored 12 points and was 8-for-8 from the foul line.

Up next…
Temple (4-5) vs. Delaware State (12/19, 4 p.m.)
St. Joe’s (7-2) vs. Illinois State (12/19, 2 p.m.)
