Jordan Price, the nation’s second leading scorer, was named the Big 5 Player of the Week after he set a career-high in points last week against Hofstra.

Price, a La Salle junior wing, put up 37 points in the Explorers’ 84-80 loss to the Pride last Wednesday. He scored 24 of those points in the second half, and also had 19 points, four rebounds and two assists in Saturday’s loss against Drexel.

The Auburn transfer is currently the second-best scorer in the nation with 25.9 points per game. Howard’s James Daniel leads Division-I with a 28.6 ppg average.

Penn’s Antonio Woods was the lone men’s player on the week’s Big 5 honor roll. Woods had 16 points in the Quakers’ Wednesday loss to Navy and added 10, which tied for a team-high, in Saturday’s 63-44 defeat to George Mason.

(Update--4 PM): The Big 5 added St. Joe's fifth-year senior Aaron Brown to the honor roll. Brown had a career-high 26 points in a win over Columbia this weekend, and averaged 18.5 ppg and 3.0 rpg in the Hawks' two games this week, during which they went 1-1. After averaging 9.3 ppg and 3.9 rpg last year, his first as a Hawk, Brown is averaging 12.0 ppg and 3.6 rpg.
