Every day during the season on which there are games featuring the 10 Division I teams that CoBL features, we’ll have a Tipping Off running bright and early, letting you know everything you need to know about the matchups.

As always, we’ll start with a wrap of the previous day’s action, followed by a look at the complete slate; as always, thanks to KenPom’s awesome site for his predictions--though keep in mind this early in the season, his predictions aren’t quite as reliable:

Tonight’s games

Villanova Wildcats (4-0) vs. Stanford Cardinal (2-2)
When: 4:30 PM
Where: Barclays Center (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Watch: ESPN2
KenPom Prediction: Villanova, 81-64 (93%)

The Skinny: Villanova's hardly been challenged yet, as the Wildcats have started off the season winning four games by an average of 23.8 ppg; Stanford, meanwhile, needed OT to get by Green Bay and then throttled Charleston Southern before losing by 15 to SMU and then 17 at Saint Mary's. Where the Cardinal do have an advantage is up front, with 6-8 sophomore Reid Travis (14.8 ppg, 6.3 rpg), 6-9 senior Rosco Allen (12.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg) and 6-9 sophomore Michael Humphrey (10.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg) all amongst the team's top five scorers--and talented 7-foot freshman Josh Sharma gets some run, too. That'll be quite a load to handle for Daniel Ochefu and Darryl Reynolds, though whether all that size can keep up with 'Nova's guards will be another story entirely; Stanford's opponents have shot 43 percent from 3-point range, one of the worst defensive marks in the country.

Drexel Dragons (0-3) vs. UNC Asheville (1-3)
When: 12:00 am EST/7:00 PM AST
Where: Alaska Airlines Center (Anchorage, Ak.)
Watch: CBS Sports Network
KenPom Prediction: Drexel, 73-72 (55%)

The Skinny: The quarterfinals of the Great Alaska Shootout pits against each other two programs who have yet to win a game against a Division I opponent this year. The Dragons have been in their games against St. Joe's, High Point and Monmouth, losing each game by single-digits, though that's not going to be much consolation for Bruiser Flint and company. The Bulldogs, one of the younger teams in the country, are led by sophomore guard Kevin Vannatta (12.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg) and freshman Dwayne Sutton (11.8 ppg, 8.0 rpg). They've been porous offensively, allowing 1.066 points per possession against D-I opponents, which places them 294th in the country according to KenPom. So far this year, Drexel has been paced by Tavon Allen (17.0 ppg) and Rashann London (14.0 ppg)
