Penn made history by starting its season 3-0. Washington made sure the Quakers wouldn’t win their first four games of the seasons.

In Seattle, the Huskies put on an offensive clinic and sent Penn back to the East Coast with a loss in the form of a 104-67 drubbing on Saturday afternoon. Here’s how it went down:

At first…
Washington started the game on a 16-0 run, taking any hope away from Steve Donahue’s side. The Huskies did this in less than four minutes and held Penn without a point until the 16:04 mark. Before Penn got a bucket, the team had four turnovers and missed seven shots.

Turning point…
It was Washington’s run to start the game. Against by far the best opponent Penn has seen so far this season, the Quakers needed to shoot well and take care of the basketball, and they did neither early. On their home court, the Huskies made six of their first nine shots.

Shining stars…
Dejounte Murray led all scorers with 22 points and was one of five Washington players in double figures. Marquese Chriss and Andrew Andrews also combined for 31 points for the Huskies.

For Penn, in a game that will ultimately be more of a learning experience than anything, Darien Nelson-Henry had a team-high 13 points – nine of which came from the foul line. Matt Howard added 10 points and eight rebounds, while Penn’s leading scorer, Sam Jones, was limited to six points on 2-of-8 shooting.

Noteworthy numbers…
Penn shot just 32.8 percent from the field and 21.4 percent (6-for-28) from beyond the foul line. …Sophomore guard Antonio Woods went 0-for-10 from the field and scored just four points, all from the foul line. …Washington scored at least 100 points for the second consecutive game.
