Drexel redshirt sophomore Major Canady has suffered a season-ending knee surgery and will miss the entire 2015-16 season, the school said in a release on Wednesday evening.

This is the second consecutive season that Canady, a 6-foot-3 point guard from Wilson, N.C., has missed due to injury; the Kiski School (Pa.) product also missed all of last season with a broken ankle he suffered during the preseason.

As a freshman back in 2013-14, Canady started 14 of the team's final 15 games at point guard, averaging 2.7 ppg and 2.1 rpg for the season.

The release did not specify how the injury occurred, nor did it have any comment from Drexel coach Bruiser Flint or Canady.

The Dragons do have other options at point guard. Freshman Terrell Allen had an impressive debut last Friday with 18 points and four assists against Saint Joseph's and could very well become the full-time starter, while sophomore guard Rashann London, who's moved off the ball this season, started at point guard his entire freshman season.
