BALTIMORE -- Philadelphia’s presence was heavy on the preseason All-CAA teams that were released at the conference’s media day Tuesday.

Led by preseason Player of the Year in Hofstra’s Juan’ya Green, who went to Archbishop Carroll, four of the 10 players on the two preseason all-conference teams have ties to Philly.

Green is joined on the first team by teammate Ameen Tanksley, who went to Imhotep Charter. The second team features Philadelphia native and Neumann-Goretti product John Davis (Towson) and Yohanny Dalembert – a Haiti native who played at Lower Merion and is entering his junior season at James Madison.

Delaware sophomore point guard Kory Holden was also a second-team selection after scoring 12.4 points per game as a freshman.

Green was a first-team All-CAA selection a season ago when he averaged 17.1 points, 6.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game in his first season with the Pride after transferring from Niagara. Tanksley, who also transferred from Niagara, put up 16.2 points and 5.5 boards per game last season and was a second-team all-league pick. The only school with two players on the first team, Hofstra was picked as the favorite in the 10-team conference.

Davis took a large step forward in his sophomore season as he averaged 11.8 points and 8.1 rebounds for Towson last season, making the most of his 6-foot-5 frame.

Dalembert, meanwhile, was one of the top rim protectors in the league last season, averaging 1.3 blocks per game. He made the all-defensive team as well as the conference’s third team, scoring 11.4 points per game for the Dukes.
