Each July, the AAU circuit provides a platform for unsung players to explode onto the scene and rake in Division I offers.

Playing with the Jersey Shore Warriors throughout the live recruiting periods, Pat Andree’s combination of his strong 6-foot-8 frame and knockdown shooting ability earned him offers from six D-I programs, adding to a Holy Cross offer that he picked up in May.

Ultimately, the stretch forward from Christian Brothers Academy (N.J.) was coveted by nearly the entire Patriot League, and now one local program figures to add a major jolt of firepower to its offense next year, as Andree announced his commitment to Lehigh on Sunday night (August 30).

Andree becomes head coach Brett Reed’s first commitment in the 2016 recruiting class, as he chose the Mountain Hawks over offers from William & Mary, Lafayette, George Washington, American, Vermont, Penn and Holy Cross.

He will provide Reed with a legitimate 3-point shooting threat in the frontcourt, as Andree is almost within his shooting range as soon as he enters the gym. His jump-shot also opens up a nice dribble-drive game when defenders press up on him, and his husky frame allows him to bang inside for rebounds.

Andree now represents the fifth CoBL-area player to commit to a Patriot League school, as he’ll be joined in the high-academic conference by Jersey Shore Warriors teammates Kyle Stout (Lafayette), Tommy Funk (Army), Chuck Champion (Loyola), and Hun School guard Austin Harriott, who is also head to Loyola (Md.).

CoBL will have more on Andree's commitment on Monday
