CAA releases complete 2015-16 conference slate

The Colonial Athletic Association released its 2015-16 conference schedule on Monday, with the two local teams finding out how the last two months of the season look before they've even released their non-conference schedules.

Drexel and Delaware, like the rest of the 10-team league, get underway on New Years' Eve, an earlier start than prior years as the CAA looks to get away from its biggest scheduling problem.

Trying to fit 18 games into eight weeks meant the CAA had gone with three-game-in-five-day weekends, with teams usually playing on a Thursday, Saturday and following Monday. Now, they'll only be playing on Thursdays and Saturdays, save for one Sunday game in February between Northeastern and Hofstra on NBC Sports Network.

That's one of nine games that will be nationally televised on NBCSN. Drexel is left out of that list, but Delaware has two such opportunities: at William & Mary on Feb. 6 and at home against Hofstra on Feb. 13.

Last season, Drexel went 11-19, including a 9-9 record in CAA; Delaware had the same league record, and went 10-20 on the season.

The defending conference champions are Northeastern, who went 23-12 (12-6 CAA), losing in the NCAA Tournament Round of 64 to Notre Dame.
