An offseason of roster turnover continued for La Salle on Monday, with the news that guard Khalid Lewis will transfer out for his final year of eligibility.

Lewis' departure was first reported by The Recruit Scoop's Alex Kline

In two years (61 games) at La Salle after transferring in from Delaware, Lewis averaged 4.6 ppg and 1.6 apg, both worse numbers than what he averaged as a freshman Blue Hen back in 2011-12 (5.2 ppg, 2.6 apg). He only hit 35.6 percent from the floor at La Salle and .290 from 3-point range, and never seemed to settle in and find his rhythm at 20th and Olney.

A 6-foot-3, 185-pound combo guard, Lewis' best asset was his strength on the defensive end and ability to play both guard spots, and should find a home at a low-to-mid-major school looking for some experience in the backcourt.

Most of the Explorers' roster moves have been of the inbound variety, as they added transfers B.J. Johnson (Syracuse), Pookie Powell (Memphis) and Demetrius Henry (South Carolina) since the end of the 2014-15 season.

The move should free up more minutes for rising sophomores Johnnie Shuler and Amar Stukes, who both bring plenty of upside to the table.

Stukes, a 6-2 guard out of La Salle HS (Pa.), averaged 5.3 ppg and 1.3 apg last year as a redshirt freshman. Shuler, out of Theodore Rooselvelt (Md.), averaged 2.3 ppg and 0.3 apg in just over six minutes per game as a true freshman.

Lewis' transfer means that Giannini and his staff have two open scholarships remaining for the 2016-17 season.
