Friends' Central shooting guard Chuck Champion reeled in his first offer after playing in last weekend's live period for the Jersey Shore Warriors at the Pitt Jam Fest out in Pittsburgh. This followed up an impressive showing during April's first live period at the Hoop Group Spring Jam Fest.

The 6-foot-1 scoring guard was offered a scholarship by Loyola (Md.) on Tuesday.

"It feels great to get my first offer," Champion said. "It feels like a relief to have one under my belt and I hope for many more to come."

"Loyola is a great school and coach [G.G.Smith is a great coach along with his assistants Keith Booth and Josh Loeffler and I look forward to visiting at some point."

Champion, along with the rest of the AAU circuit, won't get a chance to play in front of any Division I coaches until the next live recruiting period in July.

In the mean time, Champion said he'd be working on becoming more of a facilitator, trying to rebound more and displaying his ball handling - which would all compliment his knockdown shooting ability very nicely.

In his first year at Friends' Central after transferring from La Salle College High School, Champion poured in 14 ppg and shot 80 percent from the free throw line. He tallied 38 3-pointers on the year.

Champion's Jersey Shore teammate, 2016 forward Kyle Stout (Parkland HS), also picked up an offer after last weekend's live period, from Maryland-Baltimore County. That offer joined the likes of Colgate and Lafayette thus far for the 6-foot-5 small forward.
