The knock on Temple's NCAA Tournament resume this past season was that it didn't have enough quality wins outside of a lopsided demolition of Kansas in December.

In 2015-16, the Owls are putting themselves in great position to, at the very least, try to earn those resume-building victories.

In addition to a report from CBS Sports insider Jon Rothstein yesterday, saying the Owls will face national runner-up Wisconsin on December 5, CBS announced Monday morning that the Owls will be in the four-team field playing in the second annual Veterans Classic on CBS Sports Network.

The event at the U.S. Naval Academy "brings together top teams from across the country in celebration of Veterans Day," according to the press release.

This year's field includes Navy, North Carolina, Florida and Temple. The event tips-off on Friday, Nov. 13, opening night of the 2015-16 college hoops season.

Temple will face North Carolina at 7 PM with Florida and Navy competing in the double-header's finale at 9:30. Both games will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

"Roy [Williams] and I have talked about what a tremendous opportunity this event is for our programs," Temple coach Fran Dunphy said in the release. "To take part in this prestigious college basketball double header that honors the brave men and women who put their lives on the line for this great nation is an honor and a privilege. We are excited to be part of the Veterans Classic, and to bring our Temple team to the Naval Academy for a game against a great program in North Carolina."

The Tar Heels were ranked 15th in the final AP Poll of the year and are expected to be among the Top 5 ranked teams in the country to open the 2015-16 season.
