The first live recruiting period of 2015 kicks off today, but Neumann-Goretti and Team Final Black 2016 guard Zane Martin picked up his first Division I offer before even hitting the floor in front of any college coaches.

Rider, out of the Metro Atlantic, extended an offer, per Martin's AAU coach. It's the first of what is likely to be a few more throughout the summer for the talented, 6-foot-3 shooting guard.

Having to replace four starters from last year's state championship team, Martin finally got a chance to shine in the Saints' starting lineup, and he didn't disappoint, putting up 16.5 ppg as the team's second-leading scorer.

"I'm so happy I accomplished this," Martin said. "I didn't think any of this was possible. I just congratulate myself for not giving up when I wasn't getting recognized."

Martin was a key reason Neumann-Goretti went 29-2 and repeated as state champions.

"I got better at playing under control, taking better shots and being a leader on the floor," Martin said.
