Overall: Delaney is a point guard with a versatile skill set. He commands the ball on offense, and wants to be the one to make a play for his team. Makes smart decisions with the ball; he sees the whole court and deals with pressure very well. Not exceptionally quick, but smart and crafty enough to maneuver around defenders with his handle and make passes of all difficulties. His shooting is the other main weapon in his arsenal. He is great off the catch, and equally good off the bounce. With his ability to score and facilitate he is a guy who warrants having the ball in his hands on nearly every possession. He needs to improve most on the defensive side of the ball. He takes plays off too frequently, but does show the ability to defend on the ball when he is locked in, just needs to be more consistent with his effort. Also would help his game if he were able to improve his handle. Having the ability to break a guy down off the dribble and get to the basket without needing a screen would make him even harder to guard. Delaney already has a host of Division II and III schools calling for his services, and it is safe to say that we can expect expect him to receive offers from some of these schools in the near future after recently decommitting to Villanova where he had previously planned attending on a lacrosse scholarship.
